Technical Directors 2023-2024

We have some exciting news to share with you.
We are pleased to announce that the Bay Arena Minor Hockey Association has hired Brad Baldwin and Nick Saunders as Technical Directors (TD) for the 2023-2024 hockey season.
Brad Baldwin came back from Alberta to the Bay Arena Rovers in 2021. Brad has his Coach Development 2 certification. He was Bantam A coach as well as the association's TD 2022-2023. He has been coaching hockey since 2005 at the AAA, AA and Rep team levels. From 2011-2012 he was a scout for Brooks Bandits (AJHL). Brad also coached 3 years in 2018-2020 Junior B in the HJHL and coached 3 Alberta cups which was prep for the WHL draft.
Nick Saunders has his HP 1 certification. He is currently the head coach for the Moor Frost Jr Stars. He has coached various age groups since 2008 including head coach for U18 AAA Tripen Osprey from 2018-2022. Nick also is a Hockey NL coach facilitator for C1,C2 and Development 1 courses both virtual and in person all across the province.
Brad and Nick will be responsible for providing on-ice support to our coaches and players this season. This will include working on ice with all divisions within the association. Both Brad and Nick will complement and assist coach volunteers with the development of our hockey players. They are not here to replace any coach.
As Technical Directors Brad and Nick will work primarily with the house league program. They will provide advice, support and on ice instruction to teams within our association.
A Technical Director is not responsible for the governing policies of our Association. Any concerns that arise within any division would continue to be addressed directly to the appropriate member of the Bay Arena Minor Hockey Association. There will be no change in communication channels that have been already well established in our Association.
We anticipate everyone's support to both Brad and Nick, in understanding and respecting their role as Technical Director. Congratulations Brad and Nick, we look forward to a wonderful hockey season!
